Who needs love when you have money?
It used to be enough, but now it’s not.
Not since he walked into my life and made me question everything.
Now I want more, but I know that’s impossible.
Things aren’t always as they seem.
My true self is hidden, and that works for me.
Or it did.
I hide in a bed of deception to disguise myself, and I’m good at it.
Or I was.
I’m Elizabeth Fitzgerald.
I’m a Senator’s wife.
And I hate my life.

  • Snow capped mountains or white sandy beach?  Definitely white sandy beaches. I’m such a sissy in the cold.
  • Are you okay with cheating in a novel? Why?  Yes. Do I condone it in real life? Absolutely not. But some of my favorite books have cheating in them. Arsen by Mia Asher comes to mind. I wanted to wring the main character’s neck, but I loved every angsty moment. I know some people have bad experiences personally with it, but as an author, we write about real life things. Cheating is part of life. As sucky and as wrong as it is, it happens. I feel like people are missing out on some amazing books by automatically cutting books out that have this in them. That’s just my opinion.
  • Are you a morning person or night person?  With a 3 year old and a 1 year old, I’m forced to be a morning person. But don’t ask me for anything until I get my cup of coffee into my system.
  • Do you secretly enjoy writing cliffhangers?  Yes. *ducks as things are thrown at me* I love reading cliffhangers too. As frustrating as it is to wait, I love a book that makes me want more, makes me speculate on what’s going to happen next. I love the anticipation.
  • Lefty or Righty?  Righty
After a few minutes, he says, “I know there’s more to you, Elizabeth. I can tell there’s someone hidden inside you dying to come out. I can see it in the fake smile you show everyone, including Cal, the way you frown when you’re alone in your thoughts, and the sadness that’s lurking in your eyes. Why are you hiding?”
God help me, but there’s something in the way he speaks to me that makes me want to lay all my secrets and sins bare. He’s soft and gentle, but most importantly, I believe he wants to know more about me. He’s not asking to gain leverage or use it to his advantage, he’s genuinely concerned. And it makes me want to tell him everything. But the rational side of my brain tells me not to, so I reel in this strange impulse to divulge my secrets to a man I hardly know.
